Mona Lisa Chavez, BS, MSW, LCSW, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She is a graduate of the University of Utah with a B.S. in Sociology and a minor in Psychology and Peace and Conflict; a master’s in social work.
I am a supportive force for individuals to evolve and engage in their relationships and life that are most important to them, assisting and facilitating change, repair, or strengthening of individuals. I am a generalist practitioner utilizing multiple modalities in my practice. I have counseled individuals of all ages, gender, religion, and sexual orientation. I am also available to counsel and work with couples and families. I am a trained mediator in both Basic and Domestic Mediation and Conflict Resolution.
Diversity is a passion of mine, and I am available to aid individuals from all backgrounds. I am dedicated to creating a space that is compassionate, warm, and empathetic. I offer a transformative and collaborative experience in my practice. The foundation of my therapeutic practice is strength based and comprehensive.
My experience includes counseling individuals in an expansive array of issues at the University of Utah Counseling Center; School Social worker including individual and family counseling for the Granite School District; and anger management and substance abuse addiction at the Indian Walk-In Center. I have also taught several classes in Social Work at the University of Utah.
My training includes individual and couples therapy, anger management and self-esteem, trauma informed practitioner, training in TF-CBT, domestic and family conflict, LGBTIA+ affirming, dialogue, neuroscience, mediation, conflict resolution, race, equity and diversity, race based trauma, Women’s Issues, Men’s Issues, Faith Crisis Issues, Jungian Arche typology psychology, EMDR training completed by April 2022.

Member of Utah Council of Conflict Resolution (UCCR).
